Cyber Project Manager, Principal Associate

About the role

The Cyber Project Manager, Principal Associate role at Capital One is responsible for leading the development and delivery of key solutions in a cloud-first technology environment. This role is a member of the Cyber Execution and Transformation (CET) team and oversees the success of Cyber-owned programs with enterprise-level impacts.

Responsibilities

• Reporting, cross-team coordination to remove impediments and solve technical issues
• Partnering closely with impacted engineering teams to enable successful delivery
• Supporting moderate to large complex cross-departmental efforts
• Leveraging problem-solving and influencing skills to ensure project plans deliver on intent
• Focusing on projects that are part of the technology organization's key priorities
• Planning, designing, managing, and executing project plans in a dynamic environment
• Building relationships and collaborating with cross-functional key stakeholders to understand processes and drive results
• Creatively solving problems and thinking outside the box to help remove barriers and challenges
• Identifying ways to improve and streamline processes
• Creating executive-ready presentations and materials
• Leading special projects autonomously and through partnerships with cross-functional teams

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree
• At least 3 years of Project Management experience
• Master’s Degree in Business Administration (MBA) preferred
• 5+ years experience in Program Management preferred
• 2+ years of leadership experience in project or program management preferred
• 2+ years of experience working within technology preferred
• 2+ years experience leading in a Cyber-focused organization preferred
• Corporate management consulting experience preferred
• Financial Services industry experience preferred
• Experience with Jira and Confluence preferred
• Google Suite Upscaled Proficiency preferred
• Project Management (PMP), Program Management (PgMP), Lean, Agile, or Six Sigma certification preferred

• Comfortable working with data and analytics tools for delivery tracking
• Excellent communication and partnership skills essential for interacting and communicating with key stakeholders
• Ability to work independently with unwavering professionalism

Pay

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed-upon number of hours to be regularly worked.

McLean, VA: $120,800 - $137,900 for Principal Project Manager

Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate’s offer letter.

This role is also eligible to earn performance-based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonuses and/or long-term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non-discretionary depending on the plan.
