Cyber Assessment & Authorization / Technical Writer
Everforth ECS is seeking a Cyber Assessment & Authorization / Technical Writer to work in Falls Church, VA. This role supports the Defense Health Agency (DHA) by delivering program management and advanced analytics services to enhance decision-making across critical healthcare IT initiatives, integrating tools such as SEMOSS, Python, R, and AI-driven analytics.
About the role
As a Security Systems Administrator, you’ll manage the cybersecurity needs of the team, create technical documents, and manage the RMF and ATO processes. The ideal candidate combines hands-on system administration experience with a strong cybersecurity mindset and excellent communication skills. You’ll handle vulnerability mitigation, software updates, patching, and administrative system support while maintaining clear, comprehensive documentation for security compliance and operational continuity.
Responsibilities
- Handle vulnerability mitigation, software updates, patching, and administrative system support for the team.
- Manage the Risk Management Framework (RMF) and Authority to Operate (ATO) efforts for the division.
- Develop, edit, and maintain program and technical documentation including SOPs, CONOPS, project plans, status reports, meeting materials, process documents, policy inputs, and ad hoc requests.
- Work with program leaders, technical SMEs, administrative staff, and external stakeholders to gather inputs and produce polished communications and documentation.
- Leverage data analysis and reporting tools to extract insights in the health sector.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Management Systems, or similar.
- 7+ years of experience producing technical documentation and diagrams for DHA and DoD IT systems, processes, and procedures.
- IAT II level cybersecurity certifications such as CompTIA Sec+.
- Statistical, analytical, and conceptual thinking skills.
- Ability to quickly transition and reassess priorities to meet aggressive deadlines.
- Proficiency in the suite of Microsoft Office products.
- Fine attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Audience analysis and the ability to simplify complex technical jargon.
- Excellent communication capabilities.
Skills
- Desired: Certifications or proven experience with Python, Bash, Apache, Linux, Windows, and Cloud-based Computing Platforms (such as vSphere).
Pay
Salary Range: $80,000–$110,000
