About the role

The Targeteer Subject Matter Expert (SME) provides expert-level entity-level target development training, targeting advisory support, and instruction in support of operational planning, training, and capability development. The Targeteer SME enables organizations to effectively conduct entity-level target development, electronic target folder development, target taxonomy, target list management, irregular warfare option development, weaponeering, munitions effectiveness assessments, combat assessments, and collateral damage assessments.

Responsibilities

  • Advise and mentor personnel on targeting methodology; the steps of target development; requirements for basic, intermediate, and advanced target development; weaponeering for kinetic and non-kinetic options; and collateral damage analysis.
  • Conduct planning and synchronization of robotics and autonomous systems.
  • Integrate kinetic and non-kinetic resources into weaponeering and course of action (COA) development.
  • Explain and support intelligence support to targeting and target systems analysis.
  • Instruct and advise personnel on conducting target taxonomy, center of gravity analysis, and critical factors analysis to define entity-level target development.
  • Provide instruction and guidance during training events, exercises, and planning efforts.
  • Capture lessons learned and provide recommendations to improve intelligence performance and integration.

Requirements

  • Extensive experience in military or Department of Defense (DoD) intelligence and targeting operations, specifically within special operations.
  • Strong understanding of the joint targeting cycle and multi-domain operations.
  • Experience supporting targeting and operational planning across the conflict continuum.
  • Graduate of the Joint Targeting Staff Course, Joint Targeting Applications Course, Joint Targeting Battle Damage Assessment Course, Joint Targeting Collateral Damage Estimation Course, Joint Intermediate Target Development Course, and Special Operations Operational Design Course.
  • Minimum of 12 years of experience supporting DoD targeting operations.
  • Minimum of 8 years supporting U.S. Army Special Operations Forces (USASOF), U.S. Special Operations Command (USSOCOM), a Theater Special Operations Command (TSOC), Joint Special Operations Command (JSOC), or Joint Special Operations targeting organizations.
  • Minimum of 5 years conducting entity-level target development, target system analysis, weaponeering, collateral damage estimation (CDE), and battle damage assessment (BDA).
  • Active Top Secret/SCI DoD clearance required.

The position is contingent upon the candidate’s ability to meet physical and medical requirements as needed by the position, including compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local jurisdictional requirements.

Pay

Salary at MAG Aerospace is determined by various factors including location, education, knowledge, skills, competencies, experience, contract-specific affordability, and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $80,500 to $149,500 (annualized USD).
