Responsibilities
- Perform structural steel inspections and testing during erection activities
- Review and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and project requirements
- Document inspection findings and prepare detailed field reports
- Verify compliance with applicable codes, standards, and project specifications
- Communicate effectively with contractors, project managers, and other stakeholders
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, observations, and test results
- Promote quality, safety, and professionalism on all project sites
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of experience in construction and structural steel erection
- AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification required
- ICC High Strength Bolting Certification required
- ASNT Level II certifications in PT, MT, and UT methods required
- Strong understanding of AWS and AISC specifications
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record
- Reliable transportation suitable for construction site visits
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with additional inspection disciplines including concrete, soils, fireproofing, or related construction materials
- Familiarity with ANSI B31.1, B31.9, and AWS D1.5 standards
