About the Role

This is a full-time position for a Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) located around Pittsburgh, PA. The CWI will ensure welding quality and compliance with industry standards, codes, and project specifications through inspections, procedure reviews, testing, and documentation to maintain safety and structural integrity.

Responsibilities

• Perform visual inspections and non-destructive testing (NDT) of welds.
• Verify compliance with welding codes and project requirements.
• Review welding procedures, welder qualifications, and material certifications.
• Identify and document defects, recommend corrective actions, and ensure rework meets standards.
• Maintain detailed inspection records and reports.
• Collaborate with engineers, supervisors, and welders to uphold quality standards.
• Ensure adherence to safety protocols and industry best practices.

Requirements

• Current AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification is required.
• Strong knowledge of welding processes, materials, and inspection methods.
• Experience with applicable codes and standards – ASME, API, and AWS codes.
• Prior experience in fossil, oil, gas, and/or fabrication oversight.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, isometrics, P&IDs, and welding symbols.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Adobe.
• Excellent attention to detail, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Ability to perform job duties that require standing, kneeling, crouching, twisting the upper body, and lifting.
