About the Role
Acuren is seeking certified AWS/CWI professionals to support operations in Longview, TX. The CWI will establish inspection procedures, oversee quality systems, and ensure compliance with corporate and client requirements across multiple projects. This role emphasizes strategic quality assurance and technical integrity, involving expert consultation, audits, mentorship, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Local candidates based in Longview, TX are preferred due to the nature of the role.
Responsibilities
- Perform visual and non-destructive examination of static and dynamic pressure-retaining equipment in accordance with American Petroleum Institute (API) standards and the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) standards.
- Submit technically accurate reports documenting equipment condition to the client.
- Provide technical recommendations for repair, re-rate, replacement, and/or alteration of plant equipment to ensure safe operation within stated parameters.
- Offer technical input on welding and metallurgical issues as required.
- Provide guidance on the application of non-destructive examination techniques and procedures.
- Fully comply with all Acuren and client safe work practices and actively participate in site safety initiatives.
- Willingness to travel if needed.
Requirements
- Valid CWI certification (required).
- 6–8 years of experience or 4+ years of on-site experience.
- Certification in American Petroleum Institute Standards 510/570.
- Additional API 653 certification.
- In-depth working knowledge of API 510/570 and ASME standards.
- Experience working in direct support of petrochemical facility engineers.
- Based in or local to Longview, TX.
