(CW) Manufacturing Associate DAY SHIFT (Temporary/Contract)

About the role

BioMarin is seeking multiple individuals to join our Technical Operations group. This role involves understanding and supporting biopharmaceutical manufacturing processes, including mammalian cell culture, depth filtration, tangential flow filtration, column chromatography, centrifugation, protein purification, and formulation of bulk drug substance. Responsibilities also include providing feedback on operational procedures, assisting in the incorporation of new technologies, and ensuring compliance with cGMPs.

Responsibilities

• Understand and apply process theory and equipment operation.
• Support process optimization and address processing issues.
• Gain experience with automation systems such as LIMS, MES, and PI.
• Provide feedback and suggest changes to operational procedures.
• Write and review process documents.
• Utilize Quality systems for deviations, CAPAs, change requests, and reports.
• Participate in projects and contribute to outcomes.
• Learn and support new business systems and track department metrics.

Schedule

Sun-Tues/Alternating Wednesdays 6AM to 7PM.

Work Environment/Physical Demands

Strenuous, repetitive work including bending, reaching, climbing stairs and ladders, kneeling, and handling equipment connections using hands. Requires lifting, dispensing, pushing, and pulling items weighing up to 25 pounds. May involve work around loud equipment. Personal protective equipment is required. Various shifts and off-hours are required.

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in science related area or engineering.
• Associate’s degree in science related area or Biotech certificate with 2+ years of experience in a biotech manufacturing environment or other regulated industry.
