Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Aid in small group and individual pupil instruction.
• Assist the special education teacher in maintaining discipline.
• Support the teacher during instructional activities.
• Escort students between rooms.
• Occasionally assist with toileting students.
• Supervise students during recess and lunch.
• Help with classroom assignments and copying materials.
• Assist in filing and preparing paperwork.
• Inform teachers about observed issues.

Qualification Requirements

• High School Diploma or General Education Degree.
• Two years of college credit OR an associate's degree.
• Successful completion of a paraprofessional assessment covering content knowledge and IEP implementation.
• Basic computer skills and ability to follow written and oral instructions.
• Ability to perform basic mathematical operations and handle physical tasks.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
