CVOR Surgical Technician

About the Role

As our Surgical Tech, you will help prepare the operating room and surgical team to successfully perform a variety of surgical procedures for patients. Every day you will set up surgical equipment and instruments, assist the surgical team, and ensure a sterile environment. You will be expected to adapt quickly, collaborate effectively within the OR team, and contribute directly to the patient's healing process.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates superior knowledge and practice in the first scrub role
• Understands supply costs and works with the team to maintain quality of care while considering cost containment
• Demonstrates superior knowledge of varied surgical equipment and advanced surgical instrumentation
• Ensures appropriate equipment and supplies are available for each procedure
• Assists in communication with Biomedical Services on the status of equipment needing repair or maintenance
• Educates staff in the care of instrumentation and equipment

Requirements

• High School Graduate or GED, upon hire
• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program, upon hire
• Minimum of 3 years of recent, continuous experience as a Surgical Technologist in an acute care hospital setting, directly supporting a broad range of surgical specialties, upon hire
• Certified Surgical Technologist, upon hire or Technologist in Surgery-Certified, upon hire or Certified First Assistant - Certified Surgical Technologists, upon hire or Licensed Vocational Nurse: CA, upon hire
• Basic Life Support - CPR, within 14 days

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in Surgical Technology, upon hire
• Experience in high-acuity or specialized surgical areas (e.g., neurosurgery, cardiovascular, orthopedics, robotics), upon hire
