CVICU Nurse
About the Role
The Registered Nurse (CVICU) coordinates and delivers high-quality, patient-centered care in accordance with state and specialty scope and standards. You will influence patient care through open, collaborative relationships and formal opportunities such as hospital councils and national nursing initiatives. Your role includes shaping decisions that elevate patient outcomes and the future of nursing.
In collaboration with medical providers and the care team, you will provide individualized, compassionate care using established nursing models: Assess, Perform, Teach, and Manage. You will serve as a patient and family advocate, supporting the organization’s vision, mission, and values to ensure an unparalleled patient experience and clinical outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Perform procedures, monitoring, and other functions as ordered by medical providers.
- Document the administration of care in the patient medical record in a timely and thorough manner.
- Teach patients, families, and caregivers about medical conditions, patient status, treatment plans, medications, side effects, and follow-up measures, translating complex medical terminology for complete understanding.
- Educate patients and families on non-medicinal follow-up measures, such as healthy diet, exercise, disease prevention, and lifestyle changes.
- Prepare patients and families for future self-management.
- Manage evidence-based practices and continuous process improvement initiatives to meet and exceed quality measures.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to coordinate, evaluate, customize, and deliver a holistic patient treatment plan that promotes and supports recovery.
Qualifications
- Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Bachelor’s Degree, Associate Degree, or Registered Nurse Diploma.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date).
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date).
