About the role
The CV Invasive Specialist I and II perform duties necessary for cardiac catheterization procedures at a technical and professional level. They perform a variety of technical procedures that require independent judgment and assume responsibility and initiative for designated areas and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Participate in procedure room preparation and post procedure turn around.
- Develop specific knowledge with regard to invasive, diagnostic, and interventional supplies.
- Assist in inventory control.
- Document hemodynamic recordings, calculations, and interpretations.
- Provide patient education and emotional support.
- Foster teamwork and cohesiveness with team members and physicians.
- Understand and apply principles of x-ray generation and safety.
- Operate and troubleshoot imaging equipment.
- Mix and administer medications under the direction and supervision of the physician.
- Apply closure devices, suture sheaths, or remove sheaths and apply pressure.
- Document each procedure thoroughly and accurately.
- Operate, calibrate, and troubleshoot equipment in the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory.
- Perform point of care testing and quality assurance.
Requirements
- Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) for healthcare providers.
- PALS certification for children's hospitals or ACLS certification for adults.
- Current license, where applicable.
- Surgical Tech/Assistant Certification per state requirements.
- Fluoroscopy Operator Certification as required in the state of Colorado.
Qualifications
- CV Invasive Specialist I: Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) for healthcare providers. PALS certification for children's hospitals or ACLS certification for adults. Must obtain within 3 months of start. Bachelor's degree in health science with six months of health care experience, or graduate of a related program with one year of health care experience, or graduate of a non-programmatically accredited program in invasive cardiovascular technology with at least 800 clinical hours.
- CV Invasive Specialist II: Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) for healthcare providers. PALS certification for children's hospitals or ACLS certification for adults. Must obtain within 3 months of start. Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) or Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist (RCES) or ARRT-CI or ARRT-VI only, or RN (previous relevant RN experience required).

Pay
The hourly range for this position is $39.16 - $60.42.
