Cutter Operator

About the role

This machine operator is primarily responsible for optimizing the use of master sheets and cutting them to customer specifications.

Responsibilities

• Maintains a clean and orderly work area and warehouse.
• Maintains a safe working environment by following all company safety policies and procedures; reports unsafe conditions and incidents while maintaining quality standards.
• Follows detailed instructions for cutting lengths from master sheets.
• Identifies poor quality material and notifies the supervisor and/or Quality Control.
• Records jobs into the computer with correct usage to maintain inventory.
• Identifies equipment needing repair and notifies supervisor/team lead.
• Willing to work in other departments and/or areas and complete miscellaneous duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High School diploma and/or equivalent and one year of related experience.
• Organizational skills with an ability to prioritize and multi-task.
• Able to keep up with production standards.
• Exceptional attention to detail and good follow-up skills.
• Good problem-solving skills.
• Ability to interact professionally with coworkers and other departments.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Basic computer skills.
• Willingness to work as a team member or independently.
• Able to read a tape measure and micrometer.
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Able to stand for 8 hours with some bending and lifting involved.
