About the role
Digital Room is actively hiring a Cutter Operator for our plant in Van Nuys, CA.
Schedule
- 3rd shift: 9:30 PM – 6:00 AM, Sunday to Thursday
Duties & Responsibilities
- Access IMS program to determine priority jobs and set workload for the day.
- Place printed jobs on jogger to align and weigh according to job specifications.
- Align prepared batch inside cutter to select cutting program to follow.
- Follow cutting program cutting from biggest measurement to smallest measurement.
- Monitor assigned machine during each cut to ensure adherence to specifications and make adjustments as needed to maintain specifications and operating speed.
- Troubleshoot machine problems, resolve if possible, notifying Bindery Supervisor/Plant Management.
- Replace worn cutting blades with hand tools when required.
- Record production and operational data, such as amount of materials processed.
- Ensure all equipment, tools, and work station are in good working order and is free of any safety hazards.
- Must be available for any required overtime based on business needs.
Qualifications
- At least 1 year of experience using continuous and pile fed machines and packing experience.
- Good problem-solving and communication skills.
- Attention to detail.
- Ability to communicate effectively with Press Operator.
- Ability to multitask with changing priorities.
- Ability to recognize safety issues & corrective actions.
Physical Requirements
- Able to lift up to 50lbs (50% of time).
- Able to stand for 8 hours.
- Walking and moving around work-area (50% of time).
