Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate saw cutting on roadways and construction projects
- Ensure proper layout, timing, and execution of saw cuts and joint sealing operations
- Read and interpret project plans and specifications
- Direct and assist in the operation of heavy-duty saws
- Maintain accurate daily reports, logs, and crew time records
- Train and mentor crew members in safe and efficient work practices
- Ensure all work is performed in accordance with company safety policies and OSHA regulations
- Perform daily visual inspections of equipment and the job site and document any equipment/issues in need of service or attention.
- Maintain regular and open communication with the Superintendent, Inspectors & crew members
Essential Requirements
- Ability to read and understand instructions and specifications to determine work activities
- Comply with municipality requirements, specifications, safety standards, and company policies
- Ensure that proper safety and incident reporting procedures are followed
- Perform weekly toolbox talks regarding job site safety or other site related matter
- Must have computer skills to maintain and submit daily logs
- Must be able to pass a DOT Physical, pre-employment drug test, and background check
Salary/Hourly Exemption
- Full-Time, Non-Exempt Position
- Salary based on knowledge and experience
Working Conditions
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to outside weather conditions that can include extreme cold and heat
- Work environment periodically exposes the employees to high levels of noise, grease, and dust that is typically associated with a construction project
- Use of Personal Protection Equipment is required
Working Hours/Expectations
- Ability to work more than 40 hours in any given week including weekend assignments as required
Physical and Mental Demands
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, balance, stoop, bend, kneel, twist, or crouch on all different types of terrain
- The employee is also regularly required to talk and hear
- The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 75 pounds
- Exposure to working outdoors in all-weather conditions
Education
- A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred
Licenses, Certifications
- A valid Driver's License is required with a clean driving record
Experience
- At least 1 year of experience
