About the role
The Customs Entry Writer is responsible for processing customs clearances for imports, ensuring compliance with regulations, standards, and shipment tracking. This role involves preparing accurate documentation, maintaining records, and communicating statuses to customers and clients to support timely billing and invoicing. Responsibilities
- Process customs clearances for imports, adhering to all relevant customs regulations and company standard operating procedures.
- Prepare and review Importer Security Filings (ISF) and other required customs documentation.
- Monitor and track import shipments to ensure timely customs clearance and delivery.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for customers, customs brokers, freight forwarders, and government agencies regarding customs-related matters.
- Research and resolve complex customs clearance issues, documentation discrepancies, and compliance concerns.
- Manage documentation and archive records and documents efficiently.
- Support billing and invoicing activities by ensuring customs charges and related fees are processed accurately and on time.
- Oversee data management for client reports.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Experience in the customs field is preferred (3–5 years).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word).
- Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in data entry.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
- Ability to meet strict deadlines and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Bilingual ability in English and Korean is required.
Pay
The base salary range for this role is $60,000 - $80,000 yearly, depending on experience, qualifications, and skills.
