About the role

A Customs Compliance Auditor complies with customs laws, trade regulations, and internal procedures related to international shipments. The role focuses on minimizing regulatory risk, identifying compliance gaps, and maintaining adherence to customs requirements globally.

How you create impact

  • Lead and coordinate brokerage training initiatives across assigned locations and operational teams.
  • Partner with Brokerage leadership and Operations Managers to identify training gaps and employee development needs.
  • Provide coaching, mentoring, and performance support to employees to enhance customs brokerage knowledge and operational effectiveness.
  • Monitor training completion, employee progress, and knowledge retention to ensure compliance with company and regulatory requirements.
  • Facilitate onboarding and development programs for new hires and employees transitioning into new brokerage functions.
  • Drive consistency in operational processes by promoting adherence to standard work instructions and best practices.
  • Support change management efforts related to customs regulations, operational procedures, and system enhancements.
  • Collaborate with management to establish training objectives, measure effectiveness, and recommend continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for customs brokerage operations and regulatory compliance, providing guidance to employees and management as needed.
  • May provide functional leadership and direction to trainers, subject matter experts, or project teams involved in training and development initiatives.
  • Manage and prioritize multiple training projects and deadlines while maintaining high-quality deliverables.
  • Analyze training metrics and operational performance data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
  • Ensure all training materials, work instructions, and job aids remain current with regulatory and company policy changes.

What we would like you to bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, International Business, Logistics, or related field.
  • Licensed Customs Broker (preferred).
  • 6+ years of experience in Customs Compliance, Trade Compliance, Customs Brokerage, from Freight Forwarding Industry.
  • Experience with systems such as Cargo Wise, SAP GTS.
  • High level of customer service and enthusiasm for employee development.
