Job Description

The Logistics and Customs Administrator is responsible for specialized duties in connection with export and import shipments of materials as needed for operation of plants or distributors globally. Work with outside agencies to coordinate audits, as well as ensure compliance with all regulations and policies.

  • Assist Allison Transmission’s customs brokers with gathering of accurate data for filing of import entries with US Customs
  • Conduct pre-entry and post-entry audits for all import and export transactions
  • Determine import/export commodity codes (HTS, Schedule B, TARIC, etc.) to support daily shipping activities
  • Affirmation of Allison Transmission products for preferential treatment under various free trade agreements and other governmental programs (USMCA, AUSFTA, Buy America, etc.)
  • Affirmation of solicitation of customer documentation to support the determination of trade related information to support country of origin determination and free trade agreement eligibility
  • Periodic review of valuation of customs entries to ensure proper declarations on all import filings
  • Assist in the annual CTPAT supply chain security reviews and validations
  • Interface with Allison personnel, customers, customs brokers, freight forwarders and service providers as necessary to ensure the efficient and compliant movement of international shipments
  • Affirmation of preparation of required import export documentation, such as commercial invoices, airway bills, letters of instruction, export filings, as required

Requirements

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience required

Preferred Skills

  • 4+ years of direct import/export experience
  • Knowledge of import and export related regulations (19 CFR, AES, etc.)
  • Experience with trade programs such as USMCA
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite products
  • Customs Broker License preferred
  • NCBFAA Certified Customs Specialist preferred
