Responsibilities
- Resolve customer concerns and communicate opportunities for improving operations.
- Demonstrate company core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion, and safety.
- Greet customers in a genuine and friendly manner, assist with product retrieval, and escort customers to products.
- Anticipate customer needs, communicate effectively, and resolve issues to strengthen customer loyalty.
- Oversee front end operations to meet or exceed sales, profit, and labor goals through cost control, labor efficiencies, and excellent service.
- Maintain front end cleanliness, sanitation, and adherence to company policies, local, state, and federal laws.
- Train, monitor, and coach associates on policies and procedures, including proper handling of product, tender, and coupons, scanning error procedures, and price checks.
- Communicate pricing and signage discrepancies to the pricing coordinator.
- Provide back-up coverage for the service operations manager, excluding hiring and discipline.
- Operate checkout equipment and perform various front-end functions such as checkout transactions, stocking, bagging, cart collection, and cleaning.
- Comply with and reinforce food safety, sanitation, and safety regulations according to company, local, state, and federal guidelines.
Qualifications
- Minimum High School Diploma or GED.
- 6 months related experience or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Effective interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Good math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
- Sound judgment and decision-making skills.
- Friendly, approachable, outgoing demeanor and team player.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Good oral and written communication skills.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office Word and Excel.
