CUSTOMER SVC/CLERK

Responsibilities

• Resolve customer concerns and communicate opportunities to improve operations.
• Demonstrate company core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion, and safety.
• Greet customers in a genuine and friendly manner, assist with product retrieval, and escort customers to products.
• Anticipate customer needs, communicate effectively, and resolve issues to strengthen customer loyalty.
• Oversee front end operations to meet or exceed sales, profit, and labor goals through cost control, labor efficiencies, and excellent service.
• Maintain front end cleanliness, sanitation, and adherence to company policies and local, state, and federal laws.
• Train, monitor, and coach associates on policies and procedures, including proper handling of product, tender, and coupons, scanning error procedures, and price checks.
• Communicate pricing and signage discrepancies to the pricing coordinator.
• Provide back-up coverage for the service operations manager, excluding hiring and discipline.
• Operate checkout equipment and assist with front-end functions such as checkout transactions, stocking, bagging, cart collection, and cleaning.
• Comply with and reinforce food safety, sanitation, and safety regulations, and report any unsafe conditions or illegal activity.

Qualifications

• Minimum High School Diploma or GED
• 6 months related experience or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Effective interpersonal and customer service skills
• Good math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division)
• Sound judgment and decision-making skills
• Friendly, approachable, outgoing demeanor and team player
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Good oral and written communication skills
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office Word and Excel
