HybridFull-time
About the roleOur client’s platform is the energy intelligence layer for AI data centers: it optimizes how a facility runs its power, cooling, and storage, and it measures and settles every dollar saved in a daily ledger. This role owns what happens after the software is installed. You are the energy expert the customer’s operators, facility engineers, and finance team trust — the person who turns recommendations into approved actions, approved actions into verified savings, and verified savings into a customer who expands. This is not a relationship-management seat. It is an energy engineer’s seat with a customer in front of it. Senior individual contributor. Contract-to-hire: start on a W-2 hourly engagement with a path to convert to a permanent role. Hybrid out of Alpharetta, GA; fully remote considered for an exceptional candidate. Travel to customer sites up to 40%. What you'll doOwn adoption at each customer site: drive operator approval of optimization plans, resolve the reasons plans get rejected, and raise the share of recommendations that are acted onOwn the measurement & verification relationship: establish the baseline with the customer, review the settlement ledger with their finance team, defend the numbers, and make sure realized savings match projections — or explain precisely why notBe the energy authority in the room: read a tariff, explain a demand charge, walk a chiller-staging sequence with a plant engineer, and translate it all into what the customer’s bill and operations will do differentlyLead onboarding and commissioning from the customer side — tariff structures, point schedules for facility KPIs, alarm thresholds, procedure libraries — and hold the acceptance criteria that mark a site as liveIdentify and land expansion: optimization add-ons, tenant energy-services offerings, additional sites within an enterpriseCarry the voice of the customer into product — which recommendations operators trust, which they don’t, and why; you will sit in sprint reviewsBe the customer’s named point of contact for anything with an energy dimension, coordinating the deployment, support, and optimization teams behind youMeasured on: plan approval rate, realized vs. expected savings, dollars settled per site, time from install to acceptance, and site/add-on expansion What we're looking for7+ years in energy engineering, energy management, or energy services — data centers, critical facilities, industrial or commercial plants — with 3+ years customer-facingHands-on fluency in how facilities use energy: utility tariffs and demand charges, chiller plants and cooling, UPS and power distribution, battery storage and demand response — you can look at a load profile and know where the money isMeasurement & verification experience: baselines, normalization, savings calculations, and the discipline of defending a number to a finance teamExperience with building management, SCADA, or energy management systems as a user or implementer — you know what a point list is and why alarm thresholds matterThe judgment to sit between an operator who doesn’t trust an automated recommendation and the engineering team that built it, and get both to the right answerClear writing and the ability to present to a CIO, a plant supervisor, and a finance controller in the same week Nice to haveCEM (Certified Energy Manager) or CMVP (Certified Measurement & Verification Professional) strongly preferredAdditional credentials: CEA, PE (Electrical or Mechanical), CDCP/CDCE or Uptime Institute ATD/AOS, CxA, BEMPData center operations exposure — you have been in a facility during a commissioning or an incidentESCO / performance-contracting delivery or account experience where you were paid on measured savingsFamiliarity with demand response and grid-services programsComfort with software products and a SaaS adoption motion — without being a career SaaS CSM
