About the role
As a Customer Site Service Representative, you will support the daily operation of Surventis products in Customer Automotive Assembly Plants by providing on-site technical and application knowledge. The role responds to customer requirements, enforces product quality/performance specification, and supports new product/application development. You will provide on-site expertise of product performance including color management, defect identification, and corrective action if necessary. You will develop and support customer relationships, ensuring product performance meets or exceeds customer expectations and supports business objectives to be our customer’s supplier of choice.
Responsibilities
- Support the daily operation of Surventis products in Customer Automotive Assembly Plants.
- Provide on-site technical and application expertise of product performance including defect identification, system maintenance, and corrective action if necessary.
- Assure product performance meets or exceeds customer expectations and supports business objectives to be our customer’s supplier of choice.
- Respond to customer requirements, enforce product quality/performance specification, and support new product/application development.
- Support the efforts of a Surventis sales/technical team to assure value to the customer for product technical support, problem investigation, analysis, and resolution.
- Manage existing relationships and develop new ones.
- Act as a capable leader and mentor to coach and develop team members as well as provide support for other facilities and customer locations.
- Serve as a subject matter expert in at least one technology of the coating process (e.g., Ecoat, prime, basecoat, or clearcoat).
- Collaborate with e-coat tenders to maintain bath quality/parameters.
- Provide weekly samples to E-coat lab to meet targets.
- Maintain material inventory and forecasting.
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement for presentation to management.
Requirements
- High school diploma required; advanced degree preferred.
- 4-7+ years of automotive coatings or equivalent industry expertise.
- Advanced knowledge of the painting process and paint applications.
- Ability to develop and grow customer relationships, focusing on building positive rapport.
- Inventory control/ERP knowledge to collect and analyze data and apply results to make material and/or process recommendations.
- Strong attention to detail for continuous inspection and evaluation of pre-treatment defects.
- Excellent interpersonal skills for interactions with the team and management at customer facilities.
- Strong leadership ability to run a shift with minimal supervision.
- Prior experience in a manufacturing environment to complete instrument updates, calibrations, and ancillary paint processes such as spot repair and workability trial processes.
Pay
The competitive pay range for this role is $71,600–$90,000. Actual pay will be determined based on education, certifications, experience, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
