The Columbus Metropolitan Library is seeking a Customer Services Specialist to join our team. This part-time position offers a competitive starting pay range of $18.01 – $23.26 per hour, commensurate with experience.

About the Position
As a Customer Services Specialist, you will serve as a primary contact point for customers using the library. Your responsibilities include:
- Processing and sorting materials accurately and efficiently.
- Serving as a support for location's customer service plan.
- Assisting customers with library card accounts.
- Maintaining the library collection by identifying and solving problems with library materials.
- Providing training on library technology to customers and staff.
- Resolving customer account disputes.
- Performing additional duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- A High School Diploma or G.E.D.
- Ability to express self effectively and concisely, both orally and in writing.
- Knowledge of Internet and database services.
- Ability to operate library technology including personal computer, email, software programs (i.e. Windows/Microsoft Office), and other job-related equipment and systems.
- Ability to utilize reliable transportation to promptly report to job assignment and other locations, per job requirements.
Working Conditions and Physical Demands
The work environment involves everyday risks or discomforts that require normal safety precautions typical of such places as offices, meeting and training rooms, libraries, and residences or commercial vehicles (e.g., use of safe workplace practices with office equipment, avoidance of trips and falls, observance of fire regulations and traffic signals, and/or working in moderate outdoor weather conditions). Work requires occasional lifting or pushing of up to 100 lbs. and the frequent lifting or pushing of up to 50 lbs.
