About the role

Penn Medicine is seeking an experienced Customer Service Representative with strong healthcare administration and revenue cycle experience.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 1+ year of patient registration experience
  • 1+ year of clerical, administrative, or customer service experience
  • 1+ year of healthcare revenue cycle experience
  • Experience with insurance verification and authorization processing
  • Experience collecting patient copays and financial obligations
  • Previous Epic or equivalent EMR/EHR experience
  • Strong computer, keyboarding, and data-entry skills
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills

Key Responsibilities

  • Register, check in, and schedule patients accurately
  • Verify insurance eligibility and benefits
  • Obtain referrals and authorizations
  • Process patient financial clearance and collect copays
  • Manage inbound and outbound patient calls
  • Enter and release orders within the EMR
  • Maintain and scan patient documentation into medical records
  • Resolve registration errors and work queue issues
  • Escalate patient concerns appropriately
  • Support high-volume patient access operations
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA and regulatory requirements
