Customer Service Specialist

Location: Portsmouth, NH (hybrid)

About the role

Our client is seeking a compassionate and professional Customer Service Representative to assist customers with long-term care and insurance-related needs. This is a phone-based position requiring patience, empathy, strong listening skills, and the ability to remain calm and supportive during sensitive conversations.

Responsibilities

• Handling customer inquiries by phone and providing clear, accurate information
• Assisting with benefits, claims, and account-related questions
• Processing transactions and updates accurately
• Troubleshooting issues using web-based systems
• Documenting customer interactions in accordance with privacy requirements
• Making outbound calls when needed
• Following security, confidentiality, and quality standards

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 2+ years of office-based and phone customer service experience, or 6+ months of high-volume call center experience
• Compassionate, patient, and professional approach to customer service
• Strong communication, listening, and problem-solving skills
• Comfortable navigating web-based systems and multiple applications
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to handle sensitive conversations with professionalism and empathy
• Reliable attendance and flexibility with scheduling

Pay

$19–$22/hour
