About the Role
The Customer Service Representative is an entry-level position focused on meeting the needs of Bank customers by providing exceptional customer service. This is a part-time role requiring 30+ hours per week.
Responsibilities
- Practice exceptional service with customers using available training programs and measurement tools (e.g., Alpine Way/CARE standards).
- Use numerous software applications to accomplish daily tasks with minimal errors.
- Maintain a balanced cash drawer and resolve errors and/or discrepancies as they arise.
- Buy and sell currency from the vault as necessary, ensuring teller drawer cash limits are not exceeded.
- Understand the features and benefits of Alpine Bank consumer and business products and services.
- Answer basic customer inquiries and cross-sell when appropriate.
- Work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Follow all bank policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Regular and reliable on-site attendance is required. Employees are held accountable for all duties of this job.
Requirements
- Customer service-oriented individual.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic mathematical and cash handling skills.
- Basic keyboard navigation ability.
- Understanding and application of banking compliance regulations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (including Outlook and Word) is preferred.
- Bilingual abilities are a plus.
Qualifications
- No specific education or formal training required.
- Entry-level position requiring little or no banking experience.
- Previous cash handling and/or customer service experience preferred.
Working Conditions
This job operates in a clerical office setting, routinely using standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines. There are prolonged periods of standing in a generally fast-paced environment. Some evening and weekend hours may be included.
- Physical demands include standing for long periods, good eyesight and hand/finger dexterity, and ability to handle mental stress when dealing with upset customers.
- May spend significant time doing computer work.
- Regularly required to talk or hear.
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus.
- May have to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Repetitive motion likely.
Pay
Starting rate of pay is between $22.00 and $27.00 per hour, depending on experience.
