About the role
As our Patient Registration - Customer Service Representative, you’ll help patients check into the hospital. This role is occasionally fast-paced, and you’ll be the person patients rely on to answer questions during registration. You’ll build trust by collecting information accurately and quickly while listening with compassion to address fears, concerns, and questions. No prior healthcare experience or knowledge is required—we’ll teach you everything you need to know. This is an ideal starting point to launch your healthcare career.
You must be up to date on all vaccinations, pass a drug test, and pass a background check prior to hire. Since this is a hospital/lab environment, you will need to be prepared to see illness and injuries.
Responsibilities
- Work on computers and answer phones to intake information in a busy environment, managing multiple screens and ensuring accurate data entry between physician and nurse check-ins.
- Type quickly and efficiently while patients provide information, working across multiple programs.
- Handle interruptions from clinicians during emergent clinical care.
- Assist patients who may be ill or worried, listening carefully to ease their anxiety, asking follow-up questions, and building rapport in real time.
- Work in a fast-paced environment, often on your feet, assisting patients with registration.
- Navigate variations in health plans and coverage, applying knowledge gained through training.
- Adapt to unexpected situations while maintaining efficiency and professionalism.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Excellent customer service experience.
Preferred Skills
- Medical experience.
Schedule
Wednesday 1:00 PM – 7:00 PM and Thursday, Friday, Saturday 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM.
Pay
For this US-based position, the base pay range is $14.50 - $18.99 per hour. Individual pay is determined by role, level, location, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
