About the role

The Customer Service Representative assists callers on behalf of a number of Ohio’s government agencies, providing excellent service through phone calls and emails while maintaining strict confidentiality and privacy of customer and agency information.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent service to customers and partners via phone and email.
• Assist in meeting customer service goals and service level agreements.
• Maintain accurate records of customer interactions and services.
• Meet requirements set by the government contract and any amendments.
• Utilize reference materials to resolve inquiries.
• Maintain confidentiality and privacy of customer and agency information.
• Assist other personnel as time and knowledge permit.
• Participate in training and meetings as requested.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Proficiency with Windows 10 and the Chrome browser.
• Ability to type 30 wpm and navigate the internet.
• Ability to multitask and use multiple computer programs simultaneously.
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Ability to handle stressful situations professionally.
• Ability to learn and demonstrate knowledge of supported products and services.
• Ability to sit, type, and focus on computer work for long durations.
• Ability to listen and speak with customers for extended periods.
• Must have a Windows 10 computer and high-speed internet (cable, DSL, or fiber).
• Must have a landline or VOIP phone service.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (required).
• Two years’ customer service experience (preferred).
• Demonstrated proficiency in assistive technology (e.g., JAWS or ZOOM text) for visual adaptation, if applicable.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish (a plus).

Schedule

Must be able to work a schedule that may include evenings, weekends, holidays, and variable shifts.
