About the Role

This position is focused on meeting the needs of Alpine Bank customers by providing exceptional customer service. The Customer Service Representative (CSR) receives and pays out money, accurately keeps records of cash and negotiable instruments, and performs various banking transactions.

Responsibilities

  • Practice exceptional service with customers using available training programs and measurement tools (e.g., Alpine Way/CARE/Mystery Shop standards).
  • Use numerous software applications to accomplish daily tasks with minimal errors.
  • Buy and sell currency from the vault while ensuring teller drawer cash limits are not exceeded.
  • Maintain a balanced cash drawer and resolve errors or discrepancies as they arise.
  • Process transactions, including deposits, cashing checks, placing stops/holds, wires, vault transactions, cash advances, and check ordering.
  • Assist with Synapsys events as needed.
  • Perform safe deposit box entry and exit functions for customers.
  • Follow all bank policies and procedures.
  • Answer basic customer inquiries and cross-sell when appropriate.
  • Work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Compose and submit proper business correspondence, including letters and emails, to internal and external customers.
  • Regular and reliable on-site attendance is required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Customer service-oriented individual.
  • Basic skills in conflict resolution, complemented by clear and effective verbal and written communication.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Basic mathematical and cash handling skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Understanding of banking compliance regulations.
  • Familiarity with basic fraud detection and location security.
  • Basic understanding of Alpine Bank consumer and business products and services.
  • Understands the importance of maintaining confidential information.
  • Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid State of Colorado Driver’s License.

Qualifications

  • Entry-level position requiring little or no banking experience.
  • Previous cash handling and/or customer service experience preferred.
  • Successful candidate will need to complete Alpine Bank Development Academy – Level I training based on availability.

Working Conditions

This job operates in a professional office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, filing cabinets, and multifunction printers. The role involves prolonged periods of standing in a generally fast-paced environment. Some evening and weekend hours may be included, and occasional travel may be required.

  • Physical demands include standing for long periods, good eyesight and hand/finger dexterity, and the ability to remain calm and professional with upset customers.
  • May spend significant time doing computer work with repetitive motion likely.
  • Regularly required to talk and hear.
  • Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • May need to lift up to 75 pounds.

Pay

Starting rate of pay is from $16.50 to $21.50 per hour, depending on experience.
