Customer Service Representative - Bilingual Spanish (Public Service Representative 3)
About the role
The Department of Consumer & Business Services (DCBS) is a progressive business regulatory state agency dedicated to the mission of protecting and serving Oregon's consumers and workers while supporting a positive business climate. The position is within the Workers' Compensation Division (WCD), which administers, regulates, and enforces the laws and administrative rules governing the Oregon workers' compensation system.
Responsibilities
- Frontline first point of contact for the public regarding Workers' Compensation Division and DCBS Director's office inquiries.
- Provide administrative support to WCD program areas by performing general office tasks, conducting electronic system specific research, interacting with internal and external customers and stakeholders through web-based and telephonic means, and general clerical support.
Requirements
- Two years of experience in customer service, one year of which must include explanation of rules, regulations, and policies and responsibility for dealing with unique or unusual situations.
Qualifications
- Spanish bilingual skills are required for this position. The successful candidate must be able to speak, read, write, and interpret Spanish fluently, earning 5% more than the salary listed on this announcement.
Skills
- Reception or front desk related experience.
- Demonstrated experience with multi-line phones.
- Experience with administrative tasks such as scheduling meetings, taking meeting minutes, and data entry.
- Strong organizational skills.

Pay
The salary range listed is the non-PERS eligible rate. If you are already a participating PERS member or once you become PERS eligible after 6 months of employment, the salary range will increase by 6.95% and the required 6% employee retirement contribution will be deducted from your pay.
