Customer Service Representative

Responsibilities
- Provide superior service by understanding and responsively satisfying customer requirements
- Manage high-volume customer communications and order processing
- Provide customers with product knowledge and usage information
- Investigate and assist in resolving order discrepancies, shipping issues, and customer concerns
- Make recommendations to business unit on matters impacting account service such as inventory, chronic problems, and unique requirements
- Maintain accurate documentation in company systems
- Understand GAL’s best practices to help customers identify the correct person to speak to
- Knowledge of customer preferences
- Act as customer liaison between internal GAL departments (Production, Scheduling, Engineering, Logistics, etc.)
- Follow established procedures and service standards to ensure consistency and accuracy
Requirements
- Associate’s degree required, bachelor’s degree preferred
- 2+ years of experience in customer service, order management, or administrative support
- Experience working with CRM, ERP, or order entry systems; familiarity with order lifecycle management preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, SharePoint, etc.)
- Self-directed with ability to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and handle multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment
- Strong phone presence and written communication skills
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities

Pay
Salary for New York City based applicants: $23.00 – $28.00 per hour (actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and in keeping with local legislation).
Schedule
Full time, day shifts generally 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM.
