Customer Service Representative

About the role

In this position you will maintain a professional manner, providing excellent customer service as reflected in the policies and practices. Our patients are what drives us—we treat each patient as we would want ourselves and our families to be treated, committed to delivering the most personalized customer service in a warm and friendly environment.

Responsibilities

• Accurately obtain and process information and documentation while maintaining a 98% accuracy rate.
• Adhere to department and organization compliance policies, as well as state and federal regulations (e.g., HIPAA).
• Answer the phone courteously and professionally within three rings using approved greetings.
• Collect necessary items at the time of service.
• Maintain confidentiality of all information.
• Participate in training activities for hospital-wide changes by attending meetings and in-services.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Minimum typing speed of 20 words per minute.
• Two years of previous registration or insurance experience in a healthcare environment preferred.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Knowledge of medical terminology is desirable.
• Working knowledge of basic computer skills and web-based applications.
• If serving as a bilingual/multilingual interpreter, certification in Medical Interpretation is required.

Pay

USD $18.00–$20.00 per hour.
