Customer Service Representative

About the role

Mechanics Bank is seeking a Customer Service Representative to join our dynamic team. We prioritize building strong, lasting relationships with our clients and colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Processes routine teller transactions and interacts directly with clients.
• Verifies and processes deposits, withdrawals, check cashing, payments, transfers, and mail transactions according to established procedures.
• Works quickly to serve customers in line, ensuring accuracy and compliance with policies and procedures.
• Assists customers with account reconciliation, statement copies, check orders, account closures, address changes, stop payments, and safe deposit box entrances.
• Assists at other branches as needed.
• Provides exemplary customer service, identifying additional needs and making product/service referrals.
• Handles cash securely, balancing cash at the end of each shift, and reporting suspicious activity.
• Completes required administrative tasks, such as gathering data and processing reports, to ensure compliance with Bank policies and regulations.
• Participates in branch audits and completes assigned compliance tasks.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Minimum of 1 year experience in a banking environment with basic knowledge of bank deposit products and services.
• At least 1 year of customer service and cash handling experience in a customer-facing role.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and strong customer service abilities.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively with others.
• Basic knowledge of bank deposit products and services.
• Ability to understand and refer customers to appropriate banking products and services.
• Understanding of applicable Bank policies and procedures.

Qualifications

Pay and Schedule

• Hourly pay range: $20.00 - $25.00.
• Eligible for Retail Incentive Plan.
• Travel required: 0-10%.
