Customer Service Representative
About the role
This is a key team player position reporting directly to the Behavioral Health Customer Service Supervisor in a constantly changing, busy environment. The role requires accuracy, attention to detail, initiative, and a proactive approach while working with individuals in services, the clinical team, and coworkers. The qualified applicant must demonstrate a positive attitude, considerable latitude for independent judgment, professional ethics, appearance, and conduct. All interactions with individuals in services and other LifePath staff are conducted in a person-centered, trauma-informed way.
This position will support all Behavioral Health teams to ensure the needs of individuals are met and will be cross-trained to work in multiple settings throughout the clinic. Flexibility in transitioning between work assignments is required.
Responsibilities
- Provide quality customer service by checking in individuals as they arrive for appointments.
- Schedule and reschedule appointments.
- Collect payment for services.
- Answer and screen phone calls, take messages, provide information, and transfer calls to the appropriate person/department.
- Work closely with community partners to ensure all calls are answered promptly and triaged correctly.
- Update information in medical records.
- Scan documents into medical records.
- Mail letters.
- Perform other general office duties as needed.
- Complete other duties as assigned to fit the needs of the programs and individuals served.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
- Three years’ experience working in a medical office, agency, or hospital with knowledge of scheduling, insurance verification, billing, and collections preferred.
- Bilingual preferred.
- Knowledge and experience in performing office duties.
- Proficiency in computer programs such as Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Professional and knowledgeable of customer service skills.
- Knowledgeable of Medicaid, Medicare, and Private Insurance billing practices.
Schedule
Part-time: Tuesday and Thursday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM.
