Responsibilities

• Customer Satisfaction:
  • Provides prompt, excellent customer service in a courteous, friendly, and attentive manner
  • Greets customers as they enter and thanks them as they leave
  • Assists customers and offers suggestions or recommendations
  • Rings up sales accurately on cash register, handling money, checks, and other payment types
  • Performs multi-function operation of fuel console, lottery machines, money order machine, and telecom transactions
  • Reports to work on time and follows dress and appearance code
• Facility Condition:
  • Maintains store facility and equipment to company/brand standards through cleaning and general housekeeping
  • Performs cleaning duties to maintain store cleanliness inside and out, including basic upkeep of all equipment
  • Inspects store facilities and equipment for safety, cleanliness, and proper working order
  • Notifies Store Manager of equipment failure, maintenance needs, or supply needs
• Merchandising:
  • Completes build-to’s for ordering/purchasing merchandise
  • Receives and verifies vendor deliveries
  • Maintains adequate stock throughout the store and in counter areas; rotates stock properly
  • Places advertising and pricing signage inside or outside the facility, including marquees, ceilings, walls, and windows
• Sales Controls:
  • Controls merchandise, cash shortages, and other selling expenses
  • Assists in maintaining proper inventory levels and shift audits
• Financial Controls:
  • Keeps accurate cash, sales, and inventory control records; accounts for variances
  • Notifies Store Manager of any sales, cash, or inventory discrepancies
  • Follows company/brand guidelines for product breakage or spoilage
• Security Controls:
  • Reports incidents including employee or customer injuries, theft, property damage, or improper sanitation/waste disposal
  • Reports any situation involving unsafe, unlawful, or unethical conduct
• Administrative:
  • Keeps accurate records of shift and timekeeping paperwork
  • May take inventory of supplies and equipment
  • Attends job-related meetings (may require irregular hours)
  • Provides regular and predictable onsite attendance
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the Store Manager

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Experience in retail sales preferred
• Ability to accurately operate equipment such as cash registers, scanners, hot/cold beverage dispensers, and other machines/tools
• Ability to work scheduled shifts, including arriving on time
• Ability to communicate information and ideas clearly
• Ability to perform basic arithmetic operations (add, subtract, multiply, divide) preferred
• Ability to perform essential duties and physical functions as described

Physical Requirements

• Exposure to cold or warm temperature extremes (e.g., walk-in cooler/freezer, outdoor work)
• Occasionally lift and/or carry up to 30 pounds from ground to overhead (e.g., stocking inventory)
• Occasionally lift and/or carry up to 50 pounds from ground to waist (e.g., replenishing fountain syrups)
• Ability to grasp, reach, and manipulate objects with hands for entire shift (requires eye-hand coordination)
• Ability to push/pull with arms up to 20 pounds (e.g., using a hand-truck)
• Ability to reach overhead, bend, and twist at waist
• Ability to communicate orally
• Ability to operate a cash register and/or computer keyboard
• Ability to stoop, kneel, squat, bend, push, and pull
• Ability to work alone
• Exposure to occasional noise
• Ability to stand and/or walk for an entire shift
• May require climbing a ladder to store/retrieve materials or place/remove signs

Work Environment

• Approximately 95% of work performed indoors; occasional outdoor tasks (e.g., cleaning parking lots, gas pumps, taking out garbage)
• Exposure to extreme cold temperatures in walk-in cooler/freezer
• Exposure to occasional noise
• Works with minimum direction and periodic supervision

Pay

Hiring range: $16.00 to $16.50 per hour
