Customer Service Representative

About the role
Performs daily activities within the customer service area to ensure order fulfillment. Develops and maintains confident relationships with purchasing personnel of customers and field sales. Provides proactive communication regarding account activity to Customer, Sales, Sales Support, Product Management, Finance, and the entire Supply Chain (internal/external).
Responsibilities
- Acts as primary contact for assigned accounts, including receipt and confirmation of customer orders, researching material availability, price record confirmation, shipping method, and relevant Customer Service reporting activities.
- Manages client portal information, including order management and invoicing activities for specific clients.
- Sources new sales opportunities through quote processes, inbound lead follow-up, and outbound calls/emails.
- Coordinates with subject matter experts to respond to technical information requests, including new designs and changes to existing designs.
- Works with Master Schedulers and Planners to review order status, coordinate changes, and confirm commitment delivery dates to customers.
- Provides routine updates to customers regarding changes in supply.
- Supplies order-related documentation to customers, such as invoices and certificates of analysis.
- Processes quotes by reviewing quote history, order history, and cost to price strategically with support groups to ensure the highest probability of winning.
- Negotiates pricing, deliveries, and schedules on behalf of Amphenol-CIT with customers.
- Handles customer discrepancies professionally, coordinates with the Quality Department on quality issues, and generates RMAs as necessary.
- Assists with order entry systems and other sales-related projects when required.
- Takes a proactive approach with outgoing calls, following up with the existing account base.
- Strives to meet department metrics as outlined by the Sales Manager and Sales Director.
- Performs additional duties as required in support of the department and company.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree or 3+ years in a customer service/inside sales role.
- 2-5 years of customer service experience with preparing quotations, order entry, contract review, expediting orders, and updating order status.
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English with proficient written and verbal communication skills.
- Solid critical thinking skills to analyze information and develop creative problem-solving approaches.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and enhance customer relationships.
- Exceptional organization skills, detail-oriented approach, and thoroughness in completing tasks efficiently.
- Professional and effective communication via telephone, email, written correspondence, and Amphenol-CIT systems.
- Excellent computer skills with MS Office programs and experience with MRP systems.
- Ability and willingness to work overtime and flexible hours to meet customer needs.
- Self-motivated with a positive attitude, initiative, and a sense of urgency.
- Demonstrates good judgment and decision-making skills.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Proficient in MS Office.
- Team player with the ability to relate to people at all levels of the organization, possessing high ethical standards and a positive professional image.

Work Environment
- Work is performed in a normal office environment with minimal physical risks involved.
- The noise level in the work environment is low to moderate.
Personal Protective Equipment
- ASTM F-2412-2005, ANSI Z41-1999, or ANSI Z41-1991 rated safety-toed shoes.
- Clear ANSI Z87.1 safety-rated glasses.
- Ability to comply with JSA in specific areas.
This position includes access or potential access to ITAR and/or EAR technical data. Candidates must qualify as a U.S. Person, defined as a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident (Green Card Holder). Travel may be required infrequently.
