Full-time position supporting warehouse operations with a focus on order processing and customer service.
About the role
Accurately process incoming and outgoing orders within designated systems. Provide customer service related to daily warehousing activities.
Schedule
3rd Shift – 7:00 PM to 5:30 AM, Friday through Monday.
Pay
$19.25 - $20.25 per hour, plus a $1.00 per hour shift differential.
Responsibilities
- Process inbound and outbound orders and extra billing by end of each shift.
- Review open receipts and orders daily; communicate issues to management.
- Assign trailers to designated dock doors to ensure efficient warehouse flow.
- Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and specific customer work instructions.
- Notify manager if trailers are not being unloaded/loaded within designated time frames.
- Follow established Dock Safety, Visitor, Inbound Trailer Security, and Outbound Trailer Security policies.
- Ensure all system entries are accurate and all outbound orders are accompanied by a Bill of Lading or blue outbound form, including transfers.
- Complete dock trailer checks as directed to verify drop trailers and update door log chart.
- Verify lift operators have completed all inbound and outbound paperwork correctly.
- Transfer handwritten notes (shortages, overages, damages) to the original Bill of Lading before releasing the driver.
- Maintain daily housekeeping of operations building, equipment, break rooms, restrooms, and smoke areas.
- Promote teamwork and assist in all areas and processes as needed.
- Interface directly with customers; respond to requests within one hour and provide estimated completion times.
- Escalate customer complaints or reported errors to management immediately.
- Participate in pre-shift and department meetings.
Requirements
- Intermediate computer skills including Microsoft Office, WMS, document scanning, copying, and basic office skills.
- Proficient and accurate data entry skills.
- Ability to sit for extended periods, twist, squat, and reach above shoulder level.
- Ability to coordinate, problem-solve, and communicate workflow with customers, employees, and outside carriers.
- Knowledge of multiple accounts and/or job functions within the operation.
- Flexibility to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality; plan time off in advance.
- Willingness to learn new tasks and techniques as job requirements change.
- Initiative to seek additional work and go above required tasks.
- Maintain high work standards despite pressing deadlines; follow the “Only Handle It Once” principle.
- Follow all written and verbal instructions from management.
