About the role
The Cullman County Water Department is seeking a Customer Service Representative (CSR).
Responsibilities
- Assist all walk-in customers
- Answer all phone calls
- Absorb and relay customer account information
- Create and issue work orders
- Dispatch service crews as necessary
- Handle emergency and 48-hour line locate calls
Requirements
- Knowledge of office practices
- Reading skills to understand policies, procedures, and regulations
- Writing skills to prepare receipts and work orders
- Math skills to prepare bills, receipts, and bank statements
- Ability to handle money
- Effective communication with co-workers, supervisors, and the public
- Proficiency in operating office equipment such as computers, copiers, calculators, and fax machines
- A high school diploma or equivalent
- Coursework in data entry and experience working with the public are preferred, but not required
