About the role

The Cullman County Water Department is seeking a Customer Service Representative (CSR).

Responsibilities

  • Assist all walk-in customers
  • Answer all phone calls
  • Absorb and relay customer account information
  • Create and issue work orders
  • Dispatch service crews as necessary
  • Handle emergency and 48-hour line locate calls

Requirements

  • Knowledge of office practices
  • Reading skills to understand policies, procedures, and regulations
  • Writing skills to prepare receipts and work orders
  • Math skills to prepare bills, receipts, and bank statements
  • Ability to handle money
  • Effective communication with co-workers, supervisors, and the public
  • Proficiency in operating office equipment such as computers, copiers, calculators, and fax machines
  • A high school diploma or equivalent
  • Coursework in data entry and experience working with the public are preferred, but not required
