Responsibilities

  • Operate all store equipment.
  • Stock ingredients from delivery area to storage, work area, and walk-in cooler.
  • Prepare product and receive/process telephone orders.
  • Take inventory and complete associated paperwork.
  • Clean equipment and facility approximately daily.

Requirements

  • Must be 16 years of age or older.
  • Ability to comprehend and give correct written instructions.
  • Strong verbal communication skills for processing orders over the phone and in person.
  • Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) and ability to make correct monetary change.
  • Motor coordination for rapid and precise movements, including using a computer keyboard or touch screen.

Skills

  • Verbal, writing, and telephone skills for order processing.
  • Ability to work in varying temperatures and conditions (e.g., hot surfaces, cramped quarters, exposure to food odors and cornmeal dust).
  • Ability to handle repetitive tasks, work under stress, and meet quality control standards.

Work Conditions

  • Exposure to varying weather conditions when performing outside tasks.
  • In-store temperatures range from 36°F in the cooler to 90°F+ in work areas.
  • Frequent exposure to fumes, hot surfaces (up to 500°F+), sharp edges, and moving mechanical parts.
  • Sensory requirements: talking/hearing on the phone, near/mid-range vision, depth perception, and ability to differentiate hot/cold surfaces.

Physical Requirements

  • Standing: Most tasks performed from a standing position on ceramic tile or linoleum surfaces.
  • Walking: Short distances for brief durations.
  • Sitting: Paperwork completed at a desk or table.
  • Lifting: Deliveries include cases up to 50 lbs, lifted from floor to shelves up to 72" high.
  • Carrying: Items like 3-lb cans, 30-lb pizza sauce, or trays of dough (12 lbs per tray).
  • Pushing/Pulling: Trays on dollies (up to 7.5 lbs of force).
  • Climbing: Infrequent use of stairs/ladder for maintenance or sign changes.
  • Stooping/Bending: Forward bending at pizza assembly station and front counter; repeated continuously.
  • Crouching/Squatting: Occasionally for stocking shelves or cleaning.
  • Reaching: Continuously in all directions (up, down, forward) for tasks like stocking, cleaning, or answering phones.
  • Hand Tasks: Eye-hand coordination essential; frequent use of hands for shaping dough, using pizza peel/cutter, and assembling boxes.

Tools and Equipment

  • Pencils/pens, computers, telephones, calculators, TDD equipment.
  • Pizza cutter, pizza peel, and other store-specific tools.
