Duties/Responsibilities
- Answer main phone lines, screen and route calls, greet callers and walk-ins professionally
- Register parties for hearings, document names, times, and details
- Elevate high-level case inquiries to Docket Officer paralegals, Supervisors, or Administrative Law Judges
- Communicate case/hearing status verbally and/or in writing; respond to appeals status calls
- Research and process inquiries in case management databases
- Perform accurate data entry to document case interactions and updates
- Complete secretarial tasks—process mail/faxes, word process decisions, copy/digitize records and recordings
Required Qualifications
- Maintain Microsoft Office proficiency
- Show typing accuracy and strong experience with computers
- Display professional customer service skills in person and on the phone
- Show strong communication, interpersonal, and decision-making skills
- Show ability to handle confidential information, adhere to ethical guidelines
- Show capability to perform repetitive, detail-oriented tasks with high accuracy
- Show ability to operate standard office equipment (PC, scanner, fax, etc.), multitask with multiple programs
- Show ability to research and update data in case tracking system
- Show ability to handle diverse and upset customers with tact and diplomacy
- Sit for prolonged periods; remain focused without interruption
Preferred Experience
- Office, secretarial, or legal support experience
- Prior customer service experience (especially with legal, office, or call center)
