Responsibilities
- Operate all store equipment.
- Stock ingredients from delivery area to storage, work area, and walk-in cooler.
- Prepare product and receive/process telephone orders.
- Take inventory and complete associated paperwork.
- Clean equipment and facility approximately daily.
- Provide excellent customer service both over the phone and in person.
- Process orders accurately using a computer keyboard or touch screen.
- Make correct monetary change and perform basic arithmetic quickly.
Requirements
- Must be 16 years of age or older.
- Ability to comprehend and give correct written and verbal instructions.
- Strong communication skills for interacting with customers and co-workers.
- Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) and ability to make correct change.
- Motor coordination for rapid and precise movements (e.g., entering orders, handling pizza dough).
Work Conditions
- Environment: Exposure to varying weather conditions when performing outside tasks. In-store temperatures range from 36°F in the cooler to 90°F+ in some work areas. Sudden temperature changes, food odors, cornmeal dust, and cramped quarters (e.g., walk-in cooler).
- Physical Hazards: Hot surfaces/tools (ovens up to 500°F or higher), sharp edges, and moving mechanical parts.
- Sensory Requirements: Talking/hearing on the phone, near/mid-range vision for tasks, depth perception, and ability to differentiate between hot and cold surfaces.
- Temperament: Ability to direct activities, perform repetitive tasks, work alone or with others, handle stress, meet quality standards, interact with people, and analyze/compile data.
Physical Requirements
- Standing: Most tasks performed from a standing position on ceramic tile or linoleum floors. Work surfaces range from 36" to 48" in height.
- Walking: Short distances for brief durations.
- Sitting: Paperwork completed at a desk or table.
- Lifting: Unload bulk deliveries (up to 50 lbs) using a hand truck; stack cases onto shelves up to 72" high. Carry large cans (3 lbs, 7 oz), pizza sauce (30 lbs), and trays of pizza dough (12 lbs per tray).
- Pushing/Pulling: Move trays on dollies (force up to 7.5 lbs).
- Climbing: Infrequent use of stairs or ladders for tasks like changing prices or maintenance.
- Stooping/Bending: Forward bending at the waist (e.g., pizza assembly, stocking ingredients) for 30–45 seconds at a time, repeated throughout the day.
- Crouching/Squatting: Occasionally to stock shelves or clean low areas.
- Reaching: Continuously in all directions (up, down, forward) for tasks like turning oven controls, stocking shelves, scooping ingredients, or answering phones.
- Hand Tasks: Frequent use of hands for eye-hand coordination (e.g., shaping dough, using pizza peel, assembling boxes, handling tools). Requires forceful use of forearms/wrists and frequent pinching motions.
