Responsibilities
- Operate all store equipment.
- Stock ingredients from delivery area to storage, work area, and walk-in cooler.
- Prepare product and receive/process telephone orders.
- Take inventory and complete associated paperwork.
- Clean equipment and facility approximately daily.
- Training and orientation provided on the job.
Requirements
- Must be 16 years of age or older.
- Ability to comprehend and give correct written instructions.
- Verbal communication skills for processing orders over the phone and in person.
- Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) and ability to make correct monetary change.
- Motor coordination for rapid, precise movements (e.g., entering orders via keyboard/touch screen).
Work Conditions
- Exposure to:
- Varying/adverse weather conditions when performing outside tasks (e.g., removing trash).
- In-store temperatures ranging from 36°F in coolers to 90°F+ in work areas, with sudden temperature changes.
- Fumes from food odors, cornmeal dust, and cramped quarters (e.g., walk-in cooler).
- Hot surfaces/tools (ovens up to 500°F or higher) and sharp edges/moving mechanical parts.
- Sensory Requirements:
- Talking/hearing on the phone and in person.
- Near/mid-range vision for most tasks, depth perception, and ability to differentiate hot/cold surfaces.
- Temperaments:
- Direct activities, perform repetitive tasks, work alone or with others under stress.
- Meet strict quality control standards, deal with people, analyze/compile data, and make judgments/decisions.
Physical Requirements
- Standing: Most tasks performed standing; walking surfaces include ceramic tile/linoleum.
- Walking: Short distances/durations.
- Sitting: Paperwork completed at a desk/table.
- Lifting:
- Unload bulk deliveries (cases up to 50 lbs, dimensions up to 3' x 1.5') using a hand truck.
- Stack cases onto shelves up to 72" high.
- Carrying:
- Large cans (3 lbs, 7 oz) from workstation to storage.
- Pizza sauce (30 lbs) from storage to front of store.
- Pizza dough trays (12 lbs each, 3 at a time over short distances).
- Pushing/Pulling: Trays on dollies (24"-30" stack, up to 7.5 lbs of force).
- Climbing: Infrequent use of stairs/ladder for tasks like changing prices or cleaning.
- Stooping/Bending:
- Forward bending at pizza assembly station (30-45 seconds at a time, repeated continuously).
- Bending at front counter and when stocking ingredients.
- Crouching/Squatting: Occasionally to stock shelves or clean low areas.
- Reaching: Continuously in all directions (up, down, forward) for tasks like:
- Turning oven controls on/off (up to 72").
- Scooping cornmeal, washing dishes, or answering phones.
- Obtaining topping ingredients or cleaning work surfaces.
- Hand Tasks:
- Eye-hand coordination essential; continuous use of hands for tasks like:
- Shaping pizza dough (frequent/forceful use of forearms/wrists).
- Manipulating pizza peel, rolling cutter, and assembling cardboard boxes (frequent pinching).
- Grasping cans, phones, pizza cutters, peels, and boxes.
- Tools/Equipment: Pencils/pens, computers, telephones, calculators, TDD equipment, pizza cutter, pizza peel.
