Responsibilities

• Operate all store equipment.
• Stock ingredients from delivery area to storage, work area, and walk-in cooler.
• Prepare product and receive/process telephone orders.
• Take inventory and complete associated paperwork.
• Clean equipment and facility approximately daily.

Requirements

• Must be 16 years of age or older.
• Ability to comprehend and give correct written instructions.
• Verbal, writing, and telephone skills to take and process orders.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide accurately and quickly (may use calculator).
• Must be able to make correct monetary change.
• Motor coordination for rapid and precise movements (e.g., entering orders via keyboard/touch screen).

Work Conditions

• Exposure to:
  • Varying/adverse weather conditions when performing outside tasks.
  • In-store temperatures ranging from 36°F in cooler to 90°F+ in work areas.
  • Sudden temperature changes.
  • Fumes from food odors and cornmeal dust.
  • Cramped quarters (e.g., walk-in cooler).
  • Hot surfaces/tools (oven up to 500°F+).
  • Sharp edges and moving mechanical parts.
• Sensory Requirements:
  • Talking/hearing on telephone.
  • Near/mid-range vision for most tasks.
  • Depth perception.
  • Ability to differentiate between hot and cold surfaces.
• Temperaments:
  • Direct activities and perform repetitive tasks.
  • Work alone or with others under stress.
  • Meet strict quality control standards.
  • Deal with people, analyze/compile data, and make judgments/decisions.

Physical Requirements

• Standing: Most tasks performed standing (work surfaces 36"–48" high).
• Walking: Short distances/durations on ceramic tile/linoleum.
• Sitting: Paperwork completed at desk/table.
• Lifting:
  • Cases of ingredients/supplies up to 50 lbs (stacked onto shelves up to 72" high).
  • 3-lb cans carried to storage shelves.
  • 30-lb pizza sauce carried from storage to front of store.
  • Pizza dough trays (12 lbs each, 3 at a time over short distances).
• Pushing/Pulling: Trays on dollies (24"–30" high, up to 7.5 lbs of force).
• Climbing: Infrequent use of stairs/ladder (e.g., changing signs, maintenance).
• Stooping/Bending:
  • Forward bending at pizza assembly station (30–45 seconds at a time, repeated continuously).
  • Bending at front counter and when stocking ingredients.
• Crouching/Squatting: Occasionally to stock shelves or clean low areas.
• Reaching: Continuously up, down, and forward (e.g., oven controls, ingredients, cleaning).
• Hand Tasks:
  • Eye-hand coordination essential (continuous use of hands).
  • Frequent/forceful use of forearms/wrists (e.g., shaping dough).
  • Manipulating pizza peel, rolling cutter, and cardboard boxes.
• Tools/Equipment: Pencils/pens, computers, telephones, calculators, TDD equipment, pizza cutter, pizza peel.
