Responsibilities
- Operate store equipment and handle ingredients.
- Stock ingredients from delivery area to storage, work area, and walk-in cooler.
- Prepare product and receive/process telephone orders.
- Take inventory and complete associated paperwork.
- Clean equipment and facility approximately daily.
- Provide excellent customer service both over the phone and in person.
Requirements
- Must be 16 years of age or older.
- Ability to comprehend and give correct written/verbal instructions.
- Strong communication skills for processing orders.
- Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) and ability to make correct monetary change.
- Motor coordination for rapid, precise movements (e.g., entering orders via keyboard/touch screen).
Work Conditions
Exposure to:
- Varying/adverse weather conditions when performing outside tasks (e.g., removing trash).
- In-store temperatures ranging from 36°F (cooler) to 90°F+ in work areas.
- Sudden temperature changes, food odors, cornmeal dust, and cramped quarters (e.g., walk-in cooler).
- Hot surfaces/tools (ovens up to 500°F or higher) and sharp edges/moving mechanical parts.
Sensory Requirements:
- Talking/hearing on the phone; near/mid-range vision for tasks.
- Depth perception and ability to differentiate hot/cold surfaces.
Temperaments:
- Ability to direct activities, perform repetitive tasks, work alone/with others, and handle stress.
- Meet quality control standards, analyze data, and make judgments/decisions.
Physical Requirements
- Standing: Most tasks performed standing (work surfaces: 36"–48").
- Walking: Short distances/durations.
- Sitting: Paperwork completed at a desk/table.
- Lifting: Unload deliveries (up to 50 lbs) using a hand truck; stack cases onto shelves up to 72" high.
- Carrying: 3-lb cans, 30-lb pizza sauce, or trays of dough (12 lbs/tray, 3 trays at a time).
- Pushing/Pulling: Trays on dollies (24"–30", up to 7.5 lbs of force).
- Climbing: Infrequent use of stairs/ladder (e.g., changing signs, maintenance).
- Stooping/Bending: Forward bending at pizza assembly station (30–45 seconds continuously) and stocking ingredients.
- Crouching/Squatting: Occasionally to stock shelves or clean low areas.
- Reaching: Continuously up/down/forward (e.g., oven controls, ingredients, cleaning).
- Hand Tasks: Eye-hand coordination essential; frequent use of hands for shaping dough, handling tools (pizza peel, cutter), and assembling boxes.
Tools/Equipment: Pencils/pens, computers, telephones, calculators, TDD equipment, pizza cutter, pizza peel.
