Responsibilities

  • Operate all store equipment.
  • Stock ingredients from delivery area to storage, work area, and walk-in cooler.
  • Prepare product, including shaping pizza dough and assembling orders.
  • Receive and process telephone orders.
  • Take inventory and complete associated paperwork.
  • Clean equipment and facility approximately daily.
  • Handle monetary transactions, including making correct change.
  • Enter orders using a computer keyboard or touch screen.

Requirements

  • Must be 16 years of age or older.
  • Ability to comprehend and give correct written and verbal instructions.
  • Strong communication skills to process orders over the phone and in person.
  • Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) for accurate order processing and monetary transactions.
  • Motor coordination for rapid and precise movements, such as handling pizza dough, using a pizza peel, and assembling boxes.

Work Conditions

  • Exposure to varying and sometimes adverse weather conditions when performing outside tasks (e.g., removing trash).
  • In-store temperatures range from 36°F in the cooler to 90°F or higher in some work areas, with sudden temperature changes.
  • Exposure to food odors, cornmeal dust, and cramped quarters (e.g., walk-in cooler).
  • Hot surfaces and tools, including ovens up to 500°F or higher, and sharp edges/moving mechanical parts.
  • Sensory requirements: talking and hearing on the phone, near and mid-range vision, depth perception, and ability to differentiate between hot and cold surfaces.
  • Temperament: ability to direct activities, perform repetitive tasks, work alone or with others, handle stress, meet quality control standards, and make judgments/decisions.

Physical Requirements

  • Standing: Most tasks are performed from a standing position on ceramic tile or linoleum surfaces. Work surfaces range from 36" to 48" in height.
  • Walking: Short distances and durations, primarily within the store.
  • Sitting: Paperwork is completed at a desk or table in an office area.
  • Lifting: Unload bulk deliveries (e.g., cases of ingredients/supplies up to 50 lbs) using a hand truck. Stack items onto shelves up to 72" high. Carry items such as 3-lb cans, 30-lb pizza sauce, or trays of pizza dough (12 lbs per tray).
  • Pushing/Pulling: Move trays on dollies (requiring up to 7.5 lbs of force).
  • Climbing: Infrequent use of stairs or ladders for tasks like changing signs or performing maintenance.
  • Stooping/Bending: Forward bending at the waist (e.g., pizza assembly station, front counter, stocking ingredients). Duration: 30–45 seconds at a time, repeated continuously.
  • Crouching/Squatting: Occasionally required for stocking shelves or cleaning low areas.
  • Reaching: Continuous reaching (up, down, forward) for tasks like turning oven controls, lifting objects, scooping ingredients, or answering phones.
  • Hand Tasks: Eye-hand coordination is essential. Frequent use of hands for shaping dough, manipulating pizza peels, assembling boxes, and handling tools (e.g., pizza cutter, phone, cans).

Team members may use pencils/pens, computers, telephones, calculators, TDD equipment, pizza cutters, and pizza peels.
