Responsibilities

  • Operate all store equipment.
  • Stock ingredients from delivery area to storage, work area, and walk-in cooler.
  • Prepare product, including shaping pizza dough and assembling pizzas.
  • Receive and process telephone orders.
  • Take inventory and complete associated paperwork.
  • Clean equipment and facility approximately daily.
  • Handle monetary transactions and make correct change.
  • Enter orders using a computer keyboard or touch screen.
  • Perform physical tasks such as lifting, carrying, pushing, and climbing as required.

Requirements

  • Must be 16 years of age or older.
  • Ability to comprehend and give correct written instructions.
  • Strong verbal communication skills for processing orders over the phone and in person.
  • Basic math skills to add, subtract, multiply, and divide accurately and quickly (may use a calculator).
  • Motor coordination for rapid and precise movements, including eye-hand coordination.
  • Ability to work in varying and sometimes adverse weather conditions when performing outside tasks.
  • Capability to work in temperatures ranging from 36 degrees in the cooler to 90 degrees or above in some work areas.
  • Tolerance for exposure to fumes from food odors, cornmeal dust, and cramped quarters.
  • Ability to handle hot surfaces and tools, including ovens up to 500 degrees or higher.
  • Must be able to direct activities, perform repetitive tasks, work alone or with others, handle stress, and meet quality control standards.

Physical Requirements

  • Standing: Most tasks are performed from a standing position on ceramic tile or linoleum surfaces.
  • Walking: Short distances for brief durations.
  • Sitting: Paperwork is completed at a desk or table.
  • Lifting: Unload bulk product deliveries (up to 50 pounds) using a hand truck; lift cases from the floor to shelves up to 72 inches high.
  • Carrying: Carry large cans (3 lbs, 7 oz), pizza sauce (30 lbs), and trays of pizza dough (12 lbs per tray, three at a time).
  • Pushing/Pulling: Move trays on dollies requiring up to 7.5 pounds of force.
  • Climbing: Navigate stairs or use a ladder for tasks like changing prices, washing walls, or performing maintenance.
  • Stooping/Bending: Forward bending at the waist is required at the pizza assembly station and front counter; repeated continuously during the day.
  • Crouching/Squatting: Occasionally required for stocking shelves and cleaning low areas.
  • Reaching: Continuous reaching up, down, and forward for tasks such as turning oven controls, stocking ingredients, and answering phones.
  • Hand Tasks: Frequent and forceful use of hands, forearms, and wrists for shaping dough, using a pizza peel, cutting pizza, and assembling boxes. Must be able to grasp various objects like cans, phones, and pizza cutters.

Skills

  • Verbal, writing, and telephone skills for order processing.
  • Eye-hand coordination for tasks like using a pizza peel and entering orders.
  • Ability to use tools and equipment such as pencils, computers, telephones, calculators, TDD equipment, pizza cutters, and pizza peels.
  • Ability to differentiate between hot and cold surfaces.
  • Depth perception for various in-store tasks.

Work Conditions

  • Exposure to varying and sometimes adverse weather conditions when performing outside tasks.
  • In-store temperatures range from 36°F in the cooler to 90°F or above in some work areas, with sudden temperature changes.
