Responsibilities
- Operate all store equipment.
- Stock ingredients from delivery area to storage, work area, and walk-in cooler.
- Prepare product, including shaping pizza dough and assembling orders.
- Receive and process telephone orders.
- Take inventory and complete associated paperwork.
- Clean equipment and facility approximately daily.
- Handle monetary transactions, including making correct change.
- Use a computer keyboard or touch screen to enter orders.
Requirements
- Must be 16 years of age or older.
- Ability to comprehend and give correct written instructions.
- Strong verbal communication skills for processing orders over the phone and in person.
- Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) for accurate monetary transactions.
- Motor coordination for rapid and precise movements, such as handling pizza dough and tools.
Work Conditions
- Exposure to varying and sometimes adverse weather conditions when performing outside tasks (e.g., removing trash).
- In-store temperatures range from 36°F in coolers to 90°F+ in work areas, with sudden temperature changes.
- Exposure to food odors, cornmeal dust, cramped quarters (e.g., walk-in cooler), and hot surfaces/tools (ovens up to 500°F or higher).
- Sharp edges and moving mechanical parts.
- Tasks requiring near and mid-range vision, depth perception, and the ability to differentiate between hot and cold surfaces.
- Ability to direct activities, perform repetitive tasks, work alone or with others, handle stress, meet quality control standards, and make judgments and decisions.
Physical Requirements
- Standing: Most tasks are performed standing on ceramic tile or linoleum surfaces. Work surfaces range from 36" to 48" in height.
- Walking: Short distances for brief durations.
- Sitting: Paperwork is completed at a desk or table.
- Lifting: Unload bulk deliveries (up to 50 lbs) using a hand truck, stacking cases onto shelves up to 72" high.
- Carrying: Large cans (3 lbs, 7 oz), pizza sauce (30 lbs), and trays of pizza dough (12 lbs per tray, carried three at a time).
- Pushing/Pulling: Move trays on dollies (force up to 7.5 lbs).
- Climbing: Infrequent use of stairs or ladders for tasks like changing prices or performing maintenance.
- Stooping/Bending: Forward bending at the waist (e.g., pizza assembly station, stocking ingredients) for 30–45 seconds at a time, repeated throughout the day.
- Crouching/Squatting: Occasionally to stock shelves or clean low areas.
- Reaching: Continuously in all directions (up, down, forward) for tasks like turning oven controls, stocking shelves, or answering phones.
- Hand Tasks: Eye-hand coordination is essential. Frequent use of hands for shaping dough, using pizza peels, cutting tools, and assembling boxes. Requires forceful pinching, grasping, and manipulation of objects like cans, phones, and pizza cutters.
