Responsibilities
- Operate all store equipment.
- Stock ingredients from delivery area to storage, work area, and walk-in cooler.
- Prepare product and receive/process telephone orders.
- Take inventory and complete associated paperwork.
- Clean equipment and facility approximately daily.
Requirements
- Must be 16 years of age or older.
- Ability to comprehend and give correct written instructions.
- Verbal, writing, and telephone skills to take and process orders.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide accurately and quickly (may use calculator).
- Must be able to make correct monetary change.
- Motor coordination for rapid and precise movements (e.g., entering orders via keyboard/touch screen).
Work Conditions
- Exposure to:
- Varying/adverse weather conditions when performing outside tasks.
- In-store temperatures ranging from 36°F in cooler to 90°F+ in work areas.
- Sudden temperature changes.
- Fumes from food odors and cornmeal dust.
- Cramped quarters (e.g., walk-in cooler).
- Hot surfaces/tools (oven up to 500°F or higher).
- Sharp edges and moving mechanical parts.
- Sensory Requirements:
- Talking/hearing on telephone.
- Near/mid-range vision for most tasks.
- Depth perception.
- Ability to differentiate between hot and cold surfaces.
- Temperaments:
- Direct activities and perform repetitive tasks.
- Work alone or with others under stress.
- Meet strict quality control standards.
- Deal with people, analyze/compile data, and make judgments/decisions.
Physical Requirements
- Standing: Most tasks performed standing; walking surfaces include ceramic tile/linoleum.
- Walking: Short distances/durations.
- Sitting: Paperwork completed at desk/table.
- Lifting:
- Unload bulk deliveries (up to 50 lbs) using hand truck.
- Stack cases onto shelves up to 72" high.
- Carrying:
- 3-lb cans from workstation to storage.
- 30-lb pizza sauce from storage to front of store.
- Trays of pizza dough (12 lbs per tray, 3 at a time).
- Pushing/Pulling: Trays on dollies (force up to 7.5 lbs).
- Climbing: Infrequent stairs/ladder use (e.g., changing signs, maintenance).
- Stooping/Bending:
- Forward bending at pizza assembly station (30–45 seconds at a time, repeated).
- Bending at front counter and when stocking ingredients.
- Crouching/Squatting: Occasionally to stock shelves or clean low areas.
- Reaching: Continuously up, down, and forward (e.g., oven controls, ingredients, cleaning).
- Hand Tasks:
- Eye-hand coordination essential.
- Continuous use of hands (e.g., shaping dough, manipulating pizza peel/cutter, assembling boxes).
- Frequent/forceful pinching, grasping (e.g., cans, phone, tools).
- Tools/Equipment: Pencils/pens, computers, telephones, calculators, TDD equipment, pizza cutter, pizza peel.
