Customer Service Clerk

About the Role

A Day In The Life As a Customer Service Clerk, you will provide high-quality customer service in accordance with company standards and policies. Your role involves operating electronic scanning cash registers, processing customer purchases, honoring discounts and coupons, and assisting with Loyalty Program questions or sign-ups. You will also handle transactions such as selling money orders, lotto tickets, wire transfers, processing returns, and selling gift cards. Additionally, you will maintain the cleanliness of the Customer Service Desk and front area of the store, replace stock in display areas, and adhere to the uniform and grooming policy.

Responsibilities

• Operate electronic scanning cash registers and process customer payments.
• Honor discounts, coupons, and assist with Loyalty Program sign-ups or questions.
• Sell money orders, lotto tickets, and process wire transfers.
• Process customer returns and sell gift cards.
• Handle various transactions as needed.
• Maintain cleanliness of the Customer Service Desk and front area of the store.
• Replace stock in display areas.
• Adhere to the uniform and grooming policy.

Requirements

• Prior customer service skills or related experience.
• Ability to operate electronic scanning cash registers and machines for counting money, wire transfer processing, and lottery.
• Ability to handle stressful and complex situations calmly and professionally.
• Strong communication skills to understand and follow instructions and interact effectively with customers and team members.
• Organizational skills to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining cleanliness and organization of the work area.
• Ability to work independently as well as within a large team.
• Reliability in providing regular and predictable attendance and complying with workplace conduct standards.
