Customer Service Clerk

About the role

R+L Carriers is seeking a Customer Service Representative to work at our Amarillo TX Service Center. The CSR is responsible for maintaining a positive relationship with customers and to assist customers and other R & L employees in tracking and monitoring freight movement. Our CSR’s use customer retention techniques to ensure customers feel valued and listened to, to resolve their issues, and promote company goals and objectives. This includes daily freight tracing with customers, assisting other terminals in freight related issues, and performing other related duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a positive relationship with customers
• Assist customers and other R & L employees in tracking and monitoring freight movement
• Use customer retention techniques to ensure customers feel valued and listened to
• Resolve customer issues
• Promote company goals and objectives
• Perform daily freight tracing with customers
• Assist other terminals in freight‑related issues
• Perform other related duties as assigned

Requirements

• Preferred 2+ years of experience as a clerk or similar role in a fast‑paced environment
• Freight logistics experience
• General office and customer service experience

Skills

• Strong communication/telephone skills
• Able to work in a fast‑paced environment
• Strong critical thinking skills
• Ability to deal with potentially stressful situations
• Basic knowledge of Windows, Outlook and other Microsoft products
• Ability to type 30+ WPM
