Customer Service Clerk

About the role

R+L Carriers is seeking a Customer Service Representative to work at the Baltimore, MD Service Center. The CSR maintains positive customer relationships, assists customers and fellow employees in tracking and monitoring freight movement, uses customer retention techniques to resolve issues, and performs daily freight tracing and related duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a positive relationship with customers
• Assist customers and other R+L employees in tracking and monitoring freight movement
• Use customer retention techniques to ensure customers feel valued and listened to, resolve issues, and promote company goals
• Perform daily freight tracing with customers
• Assist other terminals in freight‑related issues
• Perform other related duties as assigned

Requirements

• Strong communication and telephone skills
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment
• Strong critical thinking skills
• Ability to deal with potentially stressful situations
• General office and customer service experience
• Basic knowledge of Windows, Outlook, and other Microsoft products
• Ability to type 30+ WPM
• Preferred: 2+ years of experience as a clerk or similar role in a fast‑paced environment
• Freight logistics experience

Pay

Hourly Rate: $20.42 per hour
